The Olive Reading Series runs in Edmonton from September to April, on the second Tuesday of each month (*except the November reading, which falls on the 20th). Readings start at 7pm. There is no cover charge. A chapbook of the featured reader's work, published by the Olive's own Extra Virgin Press is distributed for free at the reading.

The series is graciously hosted by Hulbert's Cafe (7601-115 St.) www.hulberts.ca

SPIRE poetry magazine editor, K.L. McKay, launches her first book of poetry, Barefoot Through the Pickybushes , published through the Friday Circle imprint of the University of Ottawa.  This afternoon reading will feature K.L. McKay, joined by poets previously published in Spire Poetry Poster. 

These readers will include Edmonton poet laureate Alice Major, Douglas Barbour, Jeffry Carpenter, Marie Specht, Patrick Pilarski, Laurie MacFayden, and Nico Rogers.

The reading will be followed by a musical set by singer-songwriter Trevor Tchir.

Books, magazines, merchandise and refreshments will be on sale at the reading.
